(Knoxville, TN -- October 16, 2013) Knox County Public Library's 10th year of Movies on Market Square has been a rounding success with beautiful weather and record-breaking crowds each Friday since September 13. The final screening to close out the 2013 series will be held this Friday, October 18 featuring Iron Man (PG-13, 2008). Jodie Manross will be joined by Russell Tanenbaum and Laith Kellany at 6:30 p.m. for pre-movie entertainment. The music will begin at 6:30, and the movie will roll at 7:15 p.m.
Iron Man, starring Robert Downey, Jr., tells the story of Tony Stark, a genius engineer and industrialist who is attacked and captured behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. To escape, he develops a powerful metallic armor and consequently launches a new direction for his company. Complications arise as Stark navigates his new venture.
The Library started Movies on Market Square in 2004 to showcase its film and music collection. Today, nearly half of items circulated at Lawson McGhee Library are from the audio-visual department. The series has had the generous support of the community from its inception.
This year's Movies on Market Square has been made possible through the support of its title sponsor, Lusid Media, as well as Downtown Knoxville, PetSafe, The Trust Company, The Tomato Head, Knoxlife Church.
