We are pleased to partner with the East Tennessee Library Association on the occasion of its 43rd annual Mary Utopia Rothrock lecture and dinner on Thursday, April 3 in the East Tennessee History Center, 601 S. Gay Street in downtown Knoxville. The public is invited to attend.
Featuring co-founders Bradley Reeves and Louisa Trott, the lecture showcases the Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound, which is now housed in the McClung Historical Collection of the Knox County Public Library.
The lecture, entitled "Moving History: Our Audio Visual Heritage," presents the rare and valuable collection of preserved news footage, vintage sound recordings, home movies, early television advertisements, and promotional film. The evening begins at 5:00 with an option tour of the TAMIS workspace and McClung film vault with dinner beginning at 6:00 and the lecture at 6:45.
