Book release celebration and teen writing contest

Hunting Prince Dracula is the widely anticipated sequel to bestselling young adult novel Stalking Jack the Ripper. In Kerri Maniscalco's latest novel, bizarre murders are discovered in the castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler, a.k.a. Dracula. Has the depraved prince been brought back to life, or is a copycat killer on the loose? Fans of forensic science and gothic lit are sure to enjoy Maniscalco's novels.

The book comes out on September 19 and Teen Central is co-hosting the book release celebration that night at 7:00 at West High School. We are proud to sponsor the book launch with the Friends of the Knox County Public Library, the Center for Children's & Young Adult Literature at The University of Tennessee, and Union Ave Books. Get a first glimpse at Kerri's new book and meet the author in-person. She will sign copies of her books, which will be available for purchase at the event. Do not miss this opportunity! This event is free to all and teens planning to attend are encouraged to register in advance.

The Friends of the Library are hosting a student writing contest in honor of the new book, too. All aspiring writers and creative minds (in grades 9–12) may submit original prose online by October 31. Interested teens may submit any original pieces from the following categories: gothic, horror, murder, mystery, forensics, or historical fiction. The winner will receive $100 and a membership to the Friends of the Library. Prizes will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rd places.
