Ember // by Emma C. (January 2016)

I loath, abhor, I hate, I rage,
At the name the Fire Age,
As I look at the kingdom shroud,
Heavy hoofbeats shake the ground,
Fire from heaven, storm, and hail,
As I lift the coffins veil,
Burning ships set a sail,
The land is killed,
The people willed,
To never feel again, cheer and freedom's hand,
To never again hear, or remember,
All the land that was burned to Ember.
