I promise (I'm not in love with you) // by McKayla Y. (July 2016)

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but thinking about you comes as natural as breathing.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but I constantly try to look anywhere but your direction for fear of being completely enamored.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but I find there’s an itching sensation in my bones when I can’t touch you.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but being in your arms somehow became more comfortable than lying in bed by myself.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but I smile at the mention of your name and any remembrance of you.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but I’m sure I’ve talked about you enough that my family knows who you are and my friends wish for someone like you.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but when I envision the future, you are included in every single bit.

I’m not saying I’m in love with you but I cannot escape the fact that my heart yearns to be intertwined with yours.

I'm not saying I’m in love with you but my willpower to not say so is astounding.

I'm not saying I'm in love with you but my heart beats constantly and my stomach gives myself butterflies on the very thought of your existence.
