Gwenda Bond joins Teens Talk Books

Teen Central welcomes Gwenda Bond, author of the Lois Lane and Cirque American series, to Knoxville! She will join Teens Talk Books on June 16 at the Cedar Bluff Branch Library from 11:00 to 3:00. Gwenda will spend the day with us, and offer two opportunities for teens to engage with her on super hero storytelling and writing.

Interested teens may register online. Space is limited so reserve your spot today!

Our discussion, We Can Be Heroes, will start promptly at 11:00. Teens will unpack gender stereotypes, with Gwenda, around stories and heroes such as Lois Lane, Superman and Supergirl. Come get empowered to imagine any kind of person, including yourself, as a hero.

Break for an hour lunch at noon. Lunch is on us for free and will include pizza, cookies and drinks.

Reunite for the writers' workshop, Seeing the World Like a Writer, from 1:00 to 3:00. Gwenda will instruct teens on ways to view the world through a writer’s eyes, provide first-hand accounts of the writing process, and demonstrate the value reading plays for young writers.
