New site software helps you get answers faster

There is an updated chat feature through the Ask a librarian link of this website (the question mark icon at the top of every page takes you there).

Whether you search the FAQs or browse them by topic, you'll be routed to the most relevant questions and their answers on the new ask.knoxlib.org. Next, if the suggested answers are not what you're looking for, you can:

  1. Use the "submit a question" form to create a ticket. A librarian will get back to you.
  2. Use the "contact us" slide-out panel from the right edge. There you'll find the best telephone numbers, our texting number, and a chat button.
  3. Use the chat button that floats in the bottom right corner. If you stay on the page several seconds, it will expand to invite you to chat.

Chat is available when Lawson McGhee Library is open, but might be down during shift changes or a few minutes before closing.
