Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs

We are celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month with the help of the new Knox County Mayor. Starring in a social media campaign, Mayor Glenn Jacobs touts the many resources of the library which include information and assistance with job searches, market research, investing, and more.

Black History Month

Black History Month first became a month-long celebration in 1976. Organizers chose February for the honor, as it held both Fredrick Douglass's and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays. We've compiled a list of books to help you explore African American life and culture. Also, see Kanopy for some insightful streaming documentaries and films.

Happy Birthday Dolly!

Join us to celebrate Dolly Parton’s birthday on January 19 at 10:30 a.m. Seven participating library locations (see list below) will host free storytime programs with crafts and cupcakes, and children of all ages can help make Dolly Parton’s 8-foot-long birthday card. The Knox County Imagination Library program will celebrate its own milestone as well: since 2005, the program has mailed out 2.5 million books to Knox County children under the age of five.
