Seems like fiction for teens is dominated these days by multi-volume series, epic trilogies, and big ol' books. But what if you're in the mood for just a bite of fiction? What if you want something smaller in scope, more immediately intense, a complete story that requires less of your time? Check out these collections of short stories for and about teens.
What do Dolly Parton, butter cream, and diapers have in common? The Great Cake Bake! East Tennessee's fanciest cake decorating competition takes place this Saturday, February 22 from 12 - 5 p.m. in the Tennessee Terrace at UT's Neyland Stadium. This year's competition will feature more than 170 cakes. Tickets are $10, and children under 12 will be admitted for free.
Riding a bike is all fun and games until someone gets a flat. Knox County Public Library is pleased to introduce a new program to help teens develop some practical life skills, including bike maintenance. Life 101 is a new series at Lawson McGhee Library on Saturdays at 2:00 pm. It's aim is to teach teenagers some important life skills for their future. The programs are free and open to all area teens. No reservation required.
