Honoring Dr. Nick Geidner

Dr. Nick Geidner is a professor in the School of Journalism and Electronic Media at UTK. He teaches advanced reporting, data journalism, and documentary production. Geidner runs the award-winning documentary program, Land Grant Films. Geidner holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, where he studied political communication. Geidner lives in Knoxville, Tenn. with his wife, Shelby, and two sons, Henry (age 6) and Sammy (age 1), who inspired their Dad to explore this subject.

Making the Dolly-mentary (soon to be released) involved a student crew who not only learned excellent storytelling techniques and technical skills, but also provided them with a world class opportunity to meet and film Dolly Parton.
