The votes are in--what a great lineup! Friday nights from September 13 through October 18, Market Square will transform into an outdoor movie theater where folks bring their chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. Please note our schedule changes:
(Pirates of the Caribbean and Toy Story have switched dates.)
We are proud to have Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union as our title sponsor. Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union helps more than 158,000 members grow financially. The credit union has 19 locations throughout East Tennessee, including one in downtown Knoxville.
What is Movies on Market Square?
A free outdoor movie series brought to you by the Knox County Public Library. All you have to do is pack a blanket or a lawn chair and join hundreds of others under the stars for a night in front of the silver screen.
Learn more about each movie.
Each year, the lineup is decided by a community-wide vote. We strive to pick movies that are appropriate for a broad range of ages, but we recommend you read movie reviews to decide if a film is right for your family.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available at the Market Street Garage, the Locust Street Garage, the State Street Garage, and on the street. You can check out a map of the parking options.
Why does the library show movies?
The library has a great collection of DVDs. In fact, our Sights and Sounds collection is one of the best in the Southeast. And it's totally free! You can check out CDs and DVDs without any extra charges.
When and where are they?
When: Friday nights from September 13 through October 18. The movies start around 8:00, as soon as it's dark enough. We will have some preshow entertainment starting at 7:00. Check the lineup for details.
