Standing 98 feet tall with arms that stretch out 92 feet wide on top of Mount Corcovado, the colossal statue of Jesus Christ can be seen from anywhere in Rio de Janeiro, making it one of Brazil's most recognized landmark. French sculptor Paul Landowski collaborated with Silva Costa to design and create this majestic structure. Construction began in 1926, and the statue was dedicated on October 12, 1931.
