Sunsphere, Knoxville

The Sunsphere stands 266 feet tall in the middle of World's Fair Park and boasts stunning 360 degree views of Knoxville, the University of Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Erected as the iconic symbol of the 1982 Energy Exposition, it was intended to evoke the energy of the future. Today, it is the most iconic building in East Tennessee and houses an observation deck that is free to the public, a restaurant and some offices.
