On our Tails and Tales reading expedition, Read City USA travels next to the tundra and arctic waters! The tundra is found in the Arctic, beyond the permanent ice pack that surrounds the North Pole. It is a habitat of contrasting seasons, with temperatures as low as –76 degree Fahrenheit in the winter (with almost no sunlight), to temperatures as high as 77 degrees Fahrenheit in the short summer season. Animals found in tundra habitats include polar bears, artcic foxes, seals, narwhals, and snowy owls.
Join us as we bundle up and head north! This book list features the tundra and arctic habitats, the animals that live there, and the people that encounter them.
