Staff Picks from Circulation

Assistant Circulation Services Manager Derrick poses with his recommended items

Want to know what books, DVDs, and music Knox County Public Library staff love reading, watching, and listening to? Look no further than our monthly Staff Picks series, highlighting items in our Collection.

Everyone who loves books dreams about working at the library. We are the Circulation Department at Lawson McGhee Library, and we are living the dream! We have nine staff members, and our combined service to the library equals approximately 152 years. That indicates that we love the library, and we love what we do. We check out, check in, and reshelve materials coming and going from the main branch. We also get to issue the best card anyone could ever own...a library card of course! We like to think that we are one of downtown Knoxville’s greatest attractions!  However, if you can’t make it downtown, we are the ones that will gladly pull books for you and send them to your favorite branch. We hope that you enjoy our favorite picks, and we also hope that whenever you are downtown that you will stop by and visit us. As Albert Einstein said, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.” We’ll be looking for you! — Stephanie Faulkner, Circulation Services Manager
