Lynda.com is upgrading April 1

On Thursday, Aprl 1, Lynda.com will be upgraded to LinkedIn Learning for Library, which will have more courses than Lynda.com, in additional languages.

On the day of the upgrade, the service will be unavailable for several hours. When it is complete, you may once again connect to the service with your library card number and your PIN. All your history, in-progress courses, and playlists will be in your account.

The most important thing for you to know is that your LinkedIn profile, if you have one, will not be connected to your LinkedIn Learning for Library account. Your library card number will be your account on LinkedIn Learning for Library. This is for your privacy. No library staff will be able to view your LinkedIn Learning for Library activity, and LinkedIn will not trace your learning activity to your identity.

If you replace your card, you will lose access to your previous account and create a new one; the library card numbers cannot be merged in the service.

LinkedIn Learning for Library – Patron FAQ probably answers your questions, but please ask a librarian if you have more concerns.
