Apps for library services
Ask A Librarian – easily connect to our reference services, including chat, texting, phone, email, and frequently asked questions.
Beanstack Tracker – (Apple App or Android) log the time you spend reading, and help us read around the world.
BookMyne (Apple App or Android) – easily find your nearest library location, search the library's catalog, place holds, and renew currently checked out items.
ePRINTit Public Print Locations (Apple App or Android) – connects to mobile or cloud file storage so you can print from anywhere and pick up at any library location.
Flipster (Apple App, Android, Fire) – download current and back issues of magazines for offline reading.
Hoopla (Apple App, Android, Fire, and others) – stream and download thousands of movies, television shows, music albums, and graphic novels.
Kanopy (scroll to the bottom for app links) – stream documentaries, indie and foreign films, must-see classics and blockbuster movies.
Libby – get audiobooks and ebooks from the library's OverDrive partner site.
Lynda.com – first, you should register for an account with your library card number and sign in with a web browser, and then activate that account on your Apple TV or other apps on other devices. Do not use the LinkedIn Learning app.
OverDrive (Apple App, Android, others) – get audiobooks, ebooks and streaming video from the library's OverDrive partner site.
Transparent Languages Online (Android, iOS) – after setting up your account with Transparent Languages Online, install the app from the "mobile access" link in the website (it will provide you with a QR code) or from your app store, then sign in to your account on the mobile device. Hands-free Autoplay lessons can be downloaded for offline use on the Android app.
Tumblebooks (Apple App, Android) – install the app then sign in the first time with your library card number.
Tutor.com (Apple App, Android) – live tutoring, drop-off essay review, and skills lessons.
Browser extension – This is not an app, but Library Extension is a browser extension available for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. As you browse websites for books and e-books, the Library Extension can check both the library's online catalog and OverDrive, and displays the availability of that item on the same page.
