This book completely threw me for a loop. It was a stunning story of finding love, trust and friendship.
It also delves into the politics of ruling an empire. This book definitely hinted of allegory based on countries still stuck in communism today. But it was way more than a book on politics.
Nemesis is a Diabolic and Diabolics are built for on purpose, To kill. And the person she had to do all that for was Sidonia. Even though Sidonia is Nemesis' master, the two have always treated each other as friends. As equals. But the more Sidonia tells Nemesis that she is more than just a creature made to murder, the more Nemesis rejects it.
In this book, Nemesis, the Diabolic, will learn that there is more to her than just murder. She learns love. She learns something that has never been in a Diabolic before. She learns humanity.
I don't think you will find a book quite as great as this.
The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid will be available for checkout soon.
