Grendel's Guide to Love and War is funny, well written, a little romantic at times, and easy to read. The book is about a boy named Tommy and his struggles when he engages in an epic prank war to help his dad. Tommy Grendel is relatable and smart. I felt like all of the characters could have been real people and none of the dialogue felt forced or was just written to move the plot along. I would recommend this book to fans of John Green because Kaplan's humor and writing style is similar to Green's. Overall, this book is quite good and you won't regret reading it.
