Surface Tension by Mike Mullin

When Jake witnesses part of an attack by a domestic terrorist organization, he becomes one of their targets. Mullin weaves an intensely suspenseful story. He includes a wide array of characters ranging from corrupt law enforcement officers, and a brainwashed killer, to loving but skeptical friends and family. At times the flood of action left me exhausted instead of intrigued. While the story hopped from one thrilling scene to another, the characters did not increase in their ability to be relatable. On account of this, the book did not evolve and pull me in as much as I hoped. Surface Tension will entertain you with its suspense but is not a memorable book.
